Trade review 4-29-10

I got a few right today:

Hits:

CDXC

Gap down, early weakness staying under the previous close, then fell near the end to complete the short.

EUBK

Spectacular short as it gapped down, then morning panicked, then faded off for a -37% finish.

PRRY

Opened flat, early on went above the previous close and open, then faded for a mediocre red day.

GRPR

Opened flat, panicky early on, then recovered, but faded near the end, finishing red.

LMCO

I figured this would keep inching up. Quite strong today for the bulls, but once the promotion ends, tank city!

CRUS

Very strong again all day with dips, right from the bell.

LOPE

Early selling prevented an entry until late in the day, but that support was a magnet. Still in play on Friday.

Misses:

ROHI

Never got a play off, kept above 3. Up and down all day with nominal green close.

LEI

Yup, it needed more seasoning, but it still counts as a miss. It opened really strong, faded into close, but staying green. 

CTHR

Gap down, moved up, later faded for a barely red finish.

SIMG

You could argue it almost pulled back enough to re-enter the breakout, but I said mid 3.70s, not 3.81

I missed the only short I really liked in EUBK live. I think IB had shares, but I did not want to chase. It fell reasonably more from there, but that was just unanticipated gravy. 

The story of the day was DNDN, I missed the move prior to the halt outright. One high profile trader in the chat room got in before the halt, sweated, then sold the gap up in batches for I believe a tidy $120,000 finish!
