Trade review 6-1-10

All of the timed release picks turned out to be SILA which proved my prediction on these copycats correct. If you bought right at the open, a nice long scalp was yours. The stock finished up over 3% A few years back Stock Preacher did some of these that panned out, and now they seem to be making something of a comeback.

I got a few of these things right:

Hits:

ANTS

Opened at hod and took out support, finishing down over 4% Now if it can break below 1.60 watch out!

VCTY

This over extension failed as expected, tanking from the bell all day en route to a 64% down finish.

JDEM

Justice finally prevailed as the pump turned into a dump today, to the tune of about 32% down. It fell most of the day from near the open.

Misses:

KRY

Just like May 12. The anticipated gap up never happened and it finished down over 9% thus ruining the hod close.

HAUP

Early AAPL fortunes given their tie-in with this security eventually gave way, permitting a close under the key 2.80 level noted from last time. But the stock finished higher than its previous close. Choppy and irritating.

Push:

NBIX

This beast toyed with traders early by zooming up then it faded to finish unchanged. Some in the trading Twittersphere were calling for a break below 4, and it did not disappoint after hours. The choppiness is annoying.

GSAT

Early on this solidly broke out over 2 upon a test as anticipated, but it faded then fell under 2 late, and is down even more after hours. It pays not to get greedy when things go your way. A split decision is in order.

WOLV

The hod closer opened flat and zoomed up, then it stabilized and faded into the close, finishing unchanged.

Totals:
Daily record: W-3 L-2 P-3
60%

My unofficial picks went as follows:

FSII

Swing long pick saw modest upside action, finishing green by less than 1% after a gap down open.

RODM

Short pick opened at the hod, then tanked most of the day en route to a nearly 9% down finish. I wanted it to hit near 4 first, but the play worked essentially.

My other swing short play noted last Thursday, BCF, gave an exit signal today after it closed below the 5 SMA in the last few minutes of the session. A near perfect entry on it happened on Friday, you may recall.
