Trade review 2-9-11

I got something right today...

Hits:

AEHI

An easy great win as this flat debut went sideways a tad, then began diving. Measured fading continued into the close, which was negative by over 23.5% today. Consistent trading under the opening price was a cue.

Misses:

TA

A whipsaw and a bit of a technical loss, this choppy stock closed strong enough to end up green by less than 1 half of 1 percent. Most conservative cover closes by early shorts banked handsomely. In the afternoon it rebounded, greening and falling under again before gradually rising into the finish. Arguably a push.

Push:

KV.A & KV.B

Both of these finished unchanged relative to the previous session close. Initially they fell, but rebounded into the close after trading mostly sideways all day. This result merits a push outcome, but some conservative short covers might have banked at least a bit.

STVI

Longs never had a chance here to enter. Opening on a gap up near the hod, it dumped from the gun and a morning reversal barely greened and quickly fell back red. This up move failed to overtake the initial high, so again a flat stance beckoned. It kept fading all day into the close, which was south by over 4% today.

ZLCS

Huge gap down under key 2.60 level near the stop level prevented any entry. While it went the right direction all day except the close where it faded out, it never greened. Longs never had an entry. Closed red by over 8% today.

LIEG

Gap down open fell at once, never giving longs a chance to enter. Recovered in the afternoon to a degree, but not enough to finish positive. Closed negative by over 7.5% today.

GWAY

Yes, I said it might be scalped long, but it did not play out that way. The rise was more measured as compared to high volume spiking. Big gap down open precluded entry. This fell only on the initial useless 5 minute noise candle. Then it began a climb up, also forestalling would be shorts. Once it greened it never looked back, closing up by nearly 52% today. Few if any shorts got sucked in, fortunately.

Not a good day for me, but deceptive. A number of pushes that were easy to keep flat on arose today.
