Trade review 4-1-11

I got a few plays right on Friday...

Hits:

CTSO

Gap up open meekly tried to fill, failed, rose soon after, then went green to red late morning for good. It tried and did not succeed in a late rally, with a hum drum close that was still negative by over 8.5% on Friday.

LEXG

Another easy win and day at the office for longs, when a gap up did not fill after an early attempt. It then gradually rose all day, continuing into the close, which was positive by over 6% on Friday.

VASO

This played out perfectly when it retested 0.50 just 2 minutes in. It held and bounced up and kept going. This yielded the pull back entry. It finally greened into the close holding on positive to finish up over 2.5% on Friday.

Misses:

VHC

This gap up faked out shorts as it gradually went green to red modestly, before gradually reversing course an hour and change into the session. It kept rising all the way into the close, which was green by over 6.5% on Friday.

ENA

I consider this a loss as I figured it was due to for some gravy upside. I specified it was in play both ways, but the live price action on those possibilities were hard to manage. A gap up open fell for the initial noise candle and rose the next 2, going green. That was possible to first short scalp, but it did not last long enough, and the long scalp did not last either. It gradually fell back negative for good. Red close by over 5.5% on Friday.

Push:

AMIE

A no play ensued when it was halted prior to the open on Friday pending news. It never reopened.

MCZ

It did close under 2, but a sizable gap up a cent below the hod fell at once, going green to red. Obviously no longs were trapped here. It greened modestly and late in the day, too late for a long day trade, suggesting a flat stance, especially since the high on the day set earlier remained intact. Hugging the flat line essentially, it closed weak, finishing red by over 4% on Friday.

My unofficial plays went as follows: CXDC finished nominally red. A big gap up crapped at once eventually going green to red by lunch. It bottomed in another hour or so, then it rose into the close, nearly recovering the flat line. LUNA opened on a gap down and steadily sold off all day. It closed down nearly 15% on Friday.
