I got one of these plays right on this day...
Hits:
AONE
An easy win for shorts when a flat debut near the hod (which printed on the noise candle) fell out of the gate, triggering a short.
Misses:
LIVE
A fake out loss for shorts when a gap down moved green after the noise candle, then fell back under early on and below the opening price level. A gradual rise and sideways movement followed, coupled with a strong close, to end up over 1% today.
MSO
A similar fake out loss when a gap down rose at once and filled/greened. Then it steadily fell back under the flat line and the open, before rallying in the afternoon to finish unchanged to barely red, but not down enough.
Push:
STEC
A no trigger no play. A gap down debut filled the gap but failed at the flat line. It stayed under all day, en route to a red finish of over 1% today.
PFN
A clear gap down advanced from the start near the lod. It only triggered (but even that candle closed under it) on the final candle at the close after an all day rise with some sideways moves. Red finish by less than 0.5% today without a practical entry.
MNI
This looks like a clear win at 1st glance, but being arguably the most honest blogger in finance I cannot claim so on my pick. The reason is most of the red came on the noise candle dump. It advanced from then on. The price action prevented any sane entry for a short, and only scalpers out of the gate made any money assuming the exited conservatively. Closed south by over 4.5% today but like I said that was quite deceptive!
USU
Another hard to enter play, this one opened on a gap up that fell out of the gate, but it held the flat line for a while. Finally, it fell under just a bit, but the candle where it hit a cent under the debut closed green, while the next one zoomed over the flat line. It stayed just over or even the rest of the way, decaying into the close to end unchanged, but shorts had no real route.
Not a good day for me, with some promising plays suffering fake outs after good beginnings, while several others did not offer any sound entries, as described above.
