I got one pick right on this day...
Hits:
CMED
An easy win for shorts when a gap up began to fall out of the gate, going red soon after and panic diving near lunch. It rebounded a bit and moved sideways into the finish, but ended negative by over 9% today.
Misses:
LIVE
A fake out loss for shorts when this gap down rose and filled the gap out of the gate. It immediately followed that with a fade back to and under the flat line, which moved under the open. Then it slowly recovered, closing up by over 2% today to complete the whip saw.
DMND
A probable tiny loss (except for some early scalpers who likely banked on the post noise candle spiking) when this gap up traded above the opening price level after 5 minutes, then gradually fell back to the flat line. It moved sideways and up for some time, closing tepidly to end up nominally today, but under the likely entry.
SURG
Another fake out loss when a gap down fell out of the open, falling red. It slowly recovered and greened, also making more new annual highs to draw longs in. It stayed positive most of the way, but closed weakly to end nominally negative but beneath the probable entry point.
SMRT
Yet another seemingly good play ruined by a fake out. This gap up advanced early and triggered for buyers. Then an hour and change in it peaked, falling back to the flat line and under it. It rose back and held until the close came along which ended matters down by over 1.5% today.
Push:
ABAT
A no play push when this gap up from the lod advanced at once, peaking early. It then moved sideways and down a bit, closing below the high but above the open and positive by over 19.5% today due to the gapper.
TITXF
A sizable gap discouraged longs. It fell on the noise candle, then moved sideways for some time. It printed for a moment once later on above the initial high, but that candle closed under the open as well. Closed positive by nearly 1.5% today in a probable no play given the price action, although it looks like a win on paper.
Not the best or worst day for me, but a frustrating one since so many plays started off well and faked out in the end for losses. The good news was 2 of them were probably for nominal margins.
Totals:
Daily record: W-1-L-4-P-2
