Trade review 12-29-11

I got a couple picks right on this day...

Hits:

JBII

A modest win for shorts as a 1 cent gap up and crap from the hod commenced. This ceased after a few hours and a long climb back up followed, but while it nearly closed the gap it still ended south by over 2% today and likely under the entry point by a little.

END

A textbook win on the 9 test and fall fail. It printed the hod over that price level on the noise candle, no less. Then it decayed gradually, falling under the flat line for the entry. It fell most of the way, but advanced somewhat into the close, to end south by nearly 3.5% to bank for shorts. It never regained 9 once breached.

Misses:

RAM

A fake out loss for shorts was possible here when after initial greening, it traded under the flat line and opening price level around 30 minutes in before bouncing back to green. It moved mostly sideways near the flat line with some positive forays, closing weakly but up over 0.5% today and likely north of the entry area a bit.

MZEI

A similar problem here for shorts. A flat open rose initially, then went green to red and under the opening price level, before rebounding back green. It moved sideways until a weak close, which was still positive by nearly 4.5% today and north of the likely entry point on a fade.

Push:

VAC

A no play push for longs when a 1 cent gap down hit but did not go over the trigger for them to enter. It essentially went sideways with a downward bias all day, closing nominally south.

THC

A flat open near the lod fell briefly out of the bell, then rose fast to green without triggering. It peaked near lunch then just moved sideways closing up nearly 1.5% today denying shorts an entry. A no play push.

SQNS

A clear gap down fell a lot early on, so longs probably never stuck around. It greened, but did not formally trigger later on. Fast peaking, it gradually decayed back to and under the flat line. A weak and sideways close followed as it ended red by over 3.5% today. Anemic moves at 3 suggested a no play for a push.

Off table selection PRXI fell initially but rose as as the session wore on, closing strongly and up over 2.5% and still is a threat to go Supernovae. Since the 16th it has had mostly up days, of varying degrees.
