I got some picks right on this day...
Hits:
RAM
A win when a gap up near the hod began to decay early on. 2 entries won, one on the move under the open, and the other on the green to red cross in the afternoon under the previous close. Given the gap, it only finished down by no more than 2.5% today in a see saw finish for shorts.
REE
A gap up fell initially and even reddened a bit, but shot back over the flat line, a clear long signal over the trigger. It kept moving up all afternoon from lunch and ended up close to 8.5% today.
Misses:
PRXI
A fake out loss for shorts when a gap down rose initially to the flat line, before fading and even falling under the opening price level. Late morning it stopped diving and began to move sideways, closing strong in the afternoon to finish essentially unchanged. This was likely above the entry point.
SEIC
Arguably a no play push given the tidy gap up, but a loss for longs playing it when the stock moved sideways and then up after the noise candle over the trigger. It soon peaked and decayed almost to the flat line, before advancing and closing off the lows in the neighborhood of 1% but likely under the entry point.
RENN
Looks like a push, but is arguably a loss. A gap up fell out of the open, slowly but steadily. It eventually returned back over 3.61 and an entry there might have been a modest win. But most would have entered once it got over the open again, and it closed a bit under that, though up by nearly 3.5% today.
Push:
AMEL
A gap up over 0.20 near the lod advanced almost at once, so shorts never had any play. It moved up most of the day until late afternoon, where it stumbled into the close but still ended up over 23% today. A push.
SRCI
This looks like a big win on paper, but it's a push on a no play. That's because it opened on a big gap down that fell even more on the noise candle, so shorts could not exploit the move easily. It moved up somewhat from there, but closed south by over 28% today. Sometimes plays are wasted before they can even begin.
Off record pick GERN worked on an entry just after the noise candle over the trigger, though the win would have been quite modest. The stock soon dipped and spent hours going sideways before going up into the close. It ended positive by nearly 5.5% today. I wish this one had been on my official list!
Totals:
Daily record: W-2-L-3-P-2
40%
