Trade review 1-5-12

I got a few picks right today...

Hits:

JBII

A great bounce call that only reddened on the noise candle, then steadily climbed. Another long on the red to green move was also hugely profitable for longs. Closed positive by over 46.5% today for the win.

ITMN

Another nice play as a gap up decayed out of the gate after opening over the trigger. It did not quite fill and moved north again, an entry possible above the trigger. It kept rising, closing a bit weak but positive by nearly 10.5% today.

HDY

This worked out well for shorts on the 3 test and fail from below. Opening a cent up, it fell out of the gate. But it rose all the way to a cent under 3 and topped out, and began heading down. A fade there really banked, but even the one on the green to red cross in the afternoon as a fade rocked, too. Red by over 2% today.

Misses:

GNOM

Most longs were probably not faked out here, but it was possible. A gap up rose out of the box, and hit over the trigger, but that was on the noise candle. The next one greened and hit it but closed under. Some could have bought then. It was all down hill from there. It fell back to and under the flat line, where it remained. Listless price action followed until it closed south by over 3.5% for a fake out loss on buys.

FTK

A gap down fell out of the gate, then rebounded to the flat line before greening. It hit the trigger, but began to decay in the afternoon after longs were sucked in. Closed positive by over 0.5% today but that was under the likely entry point. A loss after a promising start.

Push:

ZGNX

Shorts never had a play as a gap up from the lod advanced out of the gate aside from the noise candle. After peaking in 30 minutes, it drifted up and down into the close, which was positive by over 5.5% today.

END

A clear gap down moved up from the gun, eventually going red to green, but it stalled at 10. It Hung around there a while, but could not rise over for the long. The decay never reached the flat line again for a convincing short entry, either. A strong close ended it up on paper around 2% but both longs and shorts would have found entry difficult to defend. It ended right on about 10 bucks in limbo for today at least. A no play push.
