Trade review 5-1-12

I got some plays right on Tuesday...

Hits:

EMMS

This worked like a charm for real new annual highs. It opened on a gap down near the lod and advanced at once, after an early red to green cross. It retreated a lot but closed up over 4% and over the likely entry.

NAVB

Early up moves after a gap down were followed by a move down in the afternoon to trigger for shorts. A weak close followed with a down finish of over 1% today.

ZAGG

An easy win for shorts as this gap up advanced just after the reddish noise candle, then peaked early and fell back under the open and 13 soon after for the entry. It eventually closed south by almost 3% today.

Misses:

MOD

A fake out loss for longs after 2 early red to greens eventually triggered. It peaked by lunch and decayed from there, closing weakly down somewhat less than 1% today. The entry price was higher than the close.

PLUG

A gap down with an early red to green move could have faked out some longs. It closed on the trigger price after the noise candle, then gently decayed back under the flat line, ending down a bit less than 1% today.

SEFE

Early up moves up sucked in longs, who then faced reality when it fell back to and under the flat line. It then broke back under 2, and stayed red the remainder, closing south by almost 3% today. An instructive loss.

Push:

LOGI

A gap down at the lod advanced out of the open, not ever giving shorts a play. It ended positive nominally.

My off record pick ACAS which was a twin of ZAGG also worked, but less cleanly. It ended south buy over 2.5% today. But it was a clear gap down. That filled at once, and soon traded under the open, etc.
