Trade review 7-17-12

I got some of them right on this day...

Hits:

SYN

From a gap up open this steadily fell, yielding a short. It rebounded to the flat line around lunch, but most shorts would have been out by then. It continued to hug it, but closed south by over 1% for the modest win.

IBIO

This worked perfectly for shorts when a 1 cent gap up fell from the hod, yielding a short. This continued to decay for a while, until late morning when it began to move sideways. Closed south by almost 10.5% today.

Misses:

MHR

A clear fake out loss for shorts when a gap up fell hard just after the noise candle, drawing them in. It penetrated the flat line, then fell until late morning. Then it came roaring back positive, closing on a low note, but still up by in the area of 1% today.

 Push:

MVIS

A flat debut fell from the hod, so longs never had a shot. A no play push that closed red by over 6% today.

NKTR

Few longs were likely to enter here, since it fell beyond the noise candle until late morning. Then it rose to and hung around the flat line the remainder, closing up a bit less than 0.5% so it was also a commission wash.

XTRX

A gap equity down did not trigger for longs, although it declared its dividend. Initial weakness bounced, but stayed negative, closing south by over 3% today. A no play push.

ACFN

A no play push for longs despite printing a price above the trigger since this was on the noise candle which fell hard from near there at once. So did the next candle which closed under that easily. The stock just steadily fell all session, en route to a red finish of over 5.5% today.
