Trade review 7-3-12

I got a few picks right today...

Hits:

PRKR

This fell out of the gate so nobody contemplating a long would have been faked out. It rebounded, and greened, yielding the long late morning. It made new annuals, another possible entry point. Closed above both of those levels up over 2% today to win for buyers.

BBY

An easy win for shorts when a gap down could not close the divide and then triggered later on. It closed south by over 2% today.

Misses:

NVAX

A loss when this 1 cent gap down rose greened early, then fell back under the open and flat line and triggered. But it rose again and hung around the gap line and finished unchanged, a loss after commissions.

CEDC

A slight chance of a small loss fake out for longs when a 1 cent gap down advanced early and triggered technically twice, though each of those times the candle closed under the entry price. It meandered just under the flat line and closed just over by a tad.

Push:

KWK

A 3 cent gap up held an early flat line challenge, then rose steadily. It closed up over 6% today. A no play for shorts since they never had a ghost of an entry.

FCY

A gap up from the hod fell at once, so longs had no chance despite its debut being above the trigger. Up and down moves under the flat line followed all session, and it closed down nominally. Another no play push.

ZSTN

A very big gap down open derailed any entry. This steadily filled to the flat line, but once it crossed it was too late to buy, obviously. It then decayed back to the gap line, and hung around there the remainder, closing unchanged on the day. A no play push.
