Trade review 7-6-12

I got some picks right on Friday...

Hits:

XCLL

An easy win for shorts when a gap up from the hod fell on the noise candle, and the hod held challenges to provide an early entry. Late morning it moved sideways, closing down by a hard push over 26% on Friday.

MVIS

A gap up rose initially, then began to fall, yielding a short on the flat line cross. It ended south by nearly 5.5% on Friday. A win for shorts on the 2 fail.

MRIC

A gap up at the hod began falling from the gun, and soon crossed the flat line for the entry sell. This continued until late morning, when a failed bounce began to decay again to new lows. It closed south by over 23.5% on Friday.

Misses:

NVAX

A fake out for shorts when a 1 cent gap down hung around the flat line initially, then broke under and close below the flat line early on. Then it rebounded, greened, never looking back. Closed up over 6.5% Friday.

Push:

OSUR

A clear gap down discouraged any entries. It continued to decline soon after, then rallied, even nominally greened, but given how far it had to come to close the gap, it was not playable. It hung around the flat line, then gradually decayed, ending south by over 1% on Friday. A no play push.

TFER

A big gap up from the hod fell from the gun, so longs were not fake out. No new highs ever occurred from the open. A gradual decline set in, which reversed in the afternoon, but that did not trigger. Closed up over 4% on Friday. Another no play push.

GNK

A no play push when a clear gap down never triggered. It moved sideways and up most of the way, closing down over 1.5% Friday when the gap never quite filled.
