Trade review 10-17-12

I got a few plays correct on this day...

 Hits:

CPSS

A gradual win for longs when a gap up held the flat line early and later, giving a buy signal by an hour in. It finished strong, up over 5.5% today.

INVE

This worked well for shorts on the 1.25 fail. Opening on a gap down at that amount, it moved sideways and down early for the entry. A steady decline ensued, and it ended down by over 14.5% today.

PDS

An easy win for longs when a gap up from the lod rose on the noise candle. Then it climbed slowly the remainder, en route to a green finish of over 4% today.

Misses:

CRMD

A fake loss likely for shorts when a gap down at the hod slowly decayed and moved under the initial low near lunch for the entry. It slowly rose the remainder, closing south by over 7% but likely above the entry.

Push:

EKNL

Shorts had no chance when a clear gap down off an already deeply reddened stock fell initially, then doji printed and zoomed up, greening. A no play push that ended up over 35% today. Gapper at 15 minutes in.

SVNT

A no play push when this gap down failed to trigger. Up and down moves under the flat line followed and closed red by almost 5% today.

CLWR

A  2 cent gap up fell on the noise candle, with the next one unable to make new lows. Then it zoomed up so shorts likely were not faked out. After greening, it moved sideways and just positive, ending up over 1% today. A no play push.

Off table pick ONVO was a great short off the near gap and crap with the hod printed on the noise candle above the flat line. I planned only the long, so that was not in the cards. Being flexible to price action counts!
