Trade review 5-21-13

I got a few picks right on Tuesday...

Hits:

RSOL

A winning short after a gap down rose on the noise candle and a bit more, then reversed and fell to and under the open and flat line for entry. A slow decline ensued, and it ended red by over 10% today.

MPO

A winning long when this 1 cent gap down from the lod moved sideways most of the morning, but rose over the trigger nearing lunch. This continued most of the way, ending positive by over 3% today.

Misses:

MWA

A fake out short likely when a gap down rose after a doji noise candle, which reversed and fell under the open and gap line. It moved negatively until lunch, when it greened. A weak close ended it down a hair, but the area of probable entry was near where it closed, and given commissions it's a loser.

Push:

HSOL

A gigantic gap up negated any safe entr. It soared initially beyond the noise candle despite the gapper, so some longs would have won, but most likely kept flat. It soon fell under the open and moved sideways the remainder, closing up over 10% today due  to the gap size.

MNKIW

Opening on a gap up a cent over the lod, this rose and never fell under the previous close, denying shorts options. It ended up nearly 2.5% today. Another no play push.

AMAP

A 1 cent gap up near the hod fell from the noise candle and beyond, never triggering long. It bottomed before lunch and rose a bit, but stayed negative until close, which was red by over 1.5% today.

CSUN

A big gap negated entry either way, so most would have kept flat here. After a weak noise candle, it rose shortly after, then began a long fall, reddening by over 11% today. The gap ruined a potential short option.
