Trade review 2-15-11

I got some of these things right today...

Hits:

INPH

Opening on a gap down near the hod, this began to fall gently from the start. It finished off of the lows and recovered in the afternoon, but still closed red by nearly 6% today.

TA

This opened on a gap down and quickly filled. Going green a bit just for a brief stretch, it immediately fell back red for good yielding an easy shorting signal. Nice decay all day into the close, which was south by nearly 4.5% today.

PNSN

This over extension worked almost perfectly. Opening on a gap down not far from the hod, this began to fill at once, and greened just a moment, a lot like TA did. It immediately fell back red again for good. Nice afternoon fade to close out down by 5.5% today. In between, it faded evenly to trade consistently red.

Misses:

BSQR

A sad loss as this faked out longs. Opening on a gap up just over 12, it advanced for more than the initial 5 minutes. Less than 30 minutes in, it fell red hard, and never recovered. I said it was a play short in theory on fails of 12, but I saw this as more of a long and it happened in a way that could have whipsawed and lost money due to the choppiness. After trading sideways most of the day, it closed weak and down by over 4% today.

LLNW

Arguably a push since the daily doji like print today essentially went nowhere. Although the long scalp did not play out as planned. It rose, but not in an initial spike. The gap and crap did not materialize, either. Closed green by nearly 27% today but that was all lost in the gap. Both sides could have lost money on this one.

Push:

HNHI

Spiked up out of the open, denying shorts an entry. I said to keep flat on that type of price action. After it cooled down, it kept gradually advancing, closing green by over 28% today.

KV.A and KV.B

Arguably a win, a huge gap up open discouraged any entry except keeping flat. It closed well off of the highs, essentially gapping and crapping. Top fish fades won for almost any short. Finished green by 6.5 to 9.5% depending on which one we are talking about, due entirely to the gap, as it closed much lower than it opened.
