Trade review 6-16-11

I got a few picks right on this day...

Hits:

ORS

Opening on a gap down, a reach for the flat line early on failed. It began declining, soon taking out the opening price and low which was a shorting signal. It kept falling all day into the close, which was negative by nearly 24% today.

GBTR

A gap down quickly filled, greening. This was short lived, and it powered red and held. This was a shorting signal. It kept falling and closed weakly to end down 31% today.

Misses:

SQNM

A fake out loss whipsaw as this gap up filled and eventually went red to green mid morning. It rose a bit more, then began to fail around lunch. The afternoon saw it go red and continue sliding. It closed off of the lows but still negative by over 0.5% today. The loss was small, but some could have been sucked in long.

Push:

RYUN

This looks like with but it's more like a push. A gap down open greened at once. It printed the hod early and just followed the flat line nominally above it. In the last few minutes, it went red, but that was not really time for shorts to enter, and most probably were gone from the monitor by then.

RITT

This gap up zoomed out of the gate, denying shorts an entry. It peaked early, and decayed the rest of the way, but it never fell under the open, much less red. A strong close ended up nearly 11% today.

IPMN

An easy loss for longs to avoid and keep flat on as a gap up at the hod crapped, going red rapidly. This decay kept up all day save for 1 flat line failed challenge and it closed negative by over 9% today.

ES

A no play for longs as no trigger of 4.91 or 5 ever arose. A flat open nominally greened very briefly, printing the hod and then it fell red. It retested the flat line and essentially failed there. A long decay ensued, and it closed south by over 2.5% today.

Off record picks SNDY worked like a charm, opening at the hod and dropping like a stone, going green to red and holds, closing south by 25% today. POTG shook off early weakness with a red to green move that might have fooled some shorts. It kept going a bit, closing off of the highs but still up by over 13.5% today. XPO sported an early red to green long, but it did not last. It went red in the afternoon after holding just above the flat line and closed weak to end down almost 9% today.
