Trade review 7-26-11

I got some of these plays correct today...

A gap up rose at once, then fell green to red for the fade entry. It returned green a bit, but the previous session high held so few would have stopped out. An afternoon fade returned it to red, and it closed down over 6% today.

A gap up and crap with the hod printed on the noise candle, this fell green to red in the 1st 30 minutes for the short. It kept fading most of the day, en route to a negative close by nearly 26% today.

A gap down fell at once, consistently printing below the opening price level for the fade entry. It kept decaying most of the way, closing south by over 23% today.

I bungled this one TWICE. First, while it did not ever fall under the previous session close, it did fall under the opening price level about 30 minutes in. This could have faked out shorts, since it soon stopped diving and rose the rest of the way. It closed positive by over 32.5% today. Worse, in a hurry last night, I thoughtlessly grabbed the Google Finance quote without looking at the *exchange status* of the stock, an OTC. Mea culpa! Hence, real A/H trades were not likely applicable. Possibly small MM's could print trades from earlier on, adding confusion. Rules may vary from broker to broker on specific A/H practices, another complication.

A big gap down near the lod advanced at once, and shorts did not get a chance to enter. It greened a  bit and soon fell back under the flat line, which could have made money for some who did not wait for the stock to fall under the opening price level. This held and it closed higher than it opened, but red due to the gapper.

A no play when this potential long only advanced on the noise candle. It then dived under the flat line and never recovered, preventing Bulls from entering. Closed negative by over 4% today.

A flat stance was suggested as this potential more annual highs play opened on a gap down near the hod. The next candle barely greened but closed under the open. It slid south the rest of the way, never seeing the flat line again. Closed red by over 9.5% today.

Daily record: W-3 L-1-P-3
