Trade review 7-29-11

I got one play right on Friday...

Hits:

HERO

This looks like a push, given its unchanged finish relative to the previous close, but it probably won narrowly for Bulls. A gap down fell early, before trading above opening price level consistently on a gradual recovery. A long then banked modestly. A cross over the flat line early probably made peanuts as well because although it did not stay positive, it kept just under the flat line and returned positive again similarly for another exit after lunch. Another return to nominally red followed, then near the finish it greened for another exit. A weak close ended it at the flat line, but almost anyone would have been out by then with tiny gains.

Misses:

MSHL

A fake out loss for shorts when this gap down open continued to move south after the noise candle. It reversed about 30 minutes in and even greened. After falling back to the flat line after lunch, it continued to move sideways until a strong close made it end up almost 7% today.

EXR

This opened below the trigger, then fast advanced, never giving shorts a chance on the gap fill. It did not stay green long or by much, but then it fell back under the flat line and under the trigger. This head fake reversed fast and greened nominally again, before falling back red and under the trigger. A near return to green did not quite make it, and it moved sideways into the close, which was barely negative. A small loss for shorts likely.

Push:

CSOL

Opening on a gap up but close enough to the flat line, it moved sideways then started upward. This continued all morning, when it moved sideways until the close, which was positive by almost 38.5% today. A no play.

PEIX

A big gap down never triggered for longs. It even opened under a buck. A no play that closed down almost 20.5% today.

CLUB

A no play that did not trigger for longs at all. Opening on a gap down, the hod printed on the noise candle. It gradually faded all session and never saw the flat line. A red close of over 3.5% on Friday followed.

NEI

Another no play lacking any trigger. We never entered the gap or made it above the previous session close. The gap down open fell at once and its rebound failed to make it to the flat line. Closed south by over 3.5% on Friday.
