Trade review 9-16-11

I got some picks right on Friday...

Hits:

TSPT

An easy win when the hod was put in within 10 minutes and subsequent rallies held this. A fade entry on the move to red in the morning. Closed off of the lows but still negative by nearly 6% on Friday.

ELGX

The noise candle gapped down and set the initial low. A red to green move provided an entry, then it fell back but the aforementioned low held. A slow recovery and strong finish meant that most entries banked slightly. Green close by nearly 1% on Friday.

NEP

This was a great fade play with morning panic out of the bell for the entry. It leveled off but never recovered. Moving sideways into the close, the damage was done to the tune of over 12% on Friday.

Misses:

CPRX

A small gap down open fell from the open, but greened about an hour + in, possibly faking out longs. The daily doji print suggests a push, but with commissions, it's likely a net loss. Red by a bit over 0.5% on Friday.

OREX

Another possible fake out for longs when a gap up weakened initially, went red to green early. It soon reversed back under, not recovering fully. A strong close helped, but it ended south by about 2% on Friday.

Push:

JRO

A no play gap and crap at the hod that probably fooled no one long when it stumbled from the bell under the flat line. Moving sideways most of the way, subsequent rallies failed to displace the initial high. It closed weak but by less than 0.5% on Friday.

ORN

Just the above play, this gap and crap behaved much the same, with the initial high holding even easier. Longs had no play. The end was even worse. Here, a weak close sent this down over 2.5% on Friday.
