Trade review 10-28-11

I got some picks right on Friday...

Hits:

RAYS

A gap up which steadily advanced for another monitored long. It took and held 2 even. Inching ended up over 5% on Friday on any easy win.

EMIS

After solidly falling red about 30 minutes in, rebounds held the initial highs so shorts were kept in. It fell back under the flat line, and closed off the lows but likely below the entry. Closed down almost 2.5% on Friday.

Misses:

CDNS

A classic fake out for longs when this made more annual highs early on, which seemed to hold and be heading for a decent day. Then it fell to the flat line and went sideways for a long time before closing weakly and down by less than 0.5% on Friday. This was at least a modest loss after commissions.

HW

Another fake out loss for buyers when this took 2 early after the noise candle. It was all down hill from there, though. After going green to red early, it continued to decay under the flat line, closing south by over 4.5% on Friday.

Push:

MEG

Except for the noise candle, this began to climb steadily, obviously preventing more fades. After greening late morning, it went sideways along the flat line before advancing in the afternoon. Closed up over 8% on Friday.

CPMK

This never triggered, closing down close to 2.5% on Friday due to a gap down no-range tiny volume print.

DROOY

A no play for shorts when this gap down opened at the lod and advanced at once. It closed off of the highs and faded a bit in the afternoon but ended the day positive by over 2.5% on Friday.

My off table pick CBHDF had another day left in it, but a reversal is bound to come soon on this hype play.
