Trade review 12-8-10

I got a few picks correctly called...

Opening on a gap down, this proved to be the hod, and the bears won. A nice afternoon fade ensued to short into once the stock broke below 2 bucks. This continued into the close, which was red by over 18% today.

This worked well enough. Opening on a gap up, it steadily advanced, eventually taking out 2.70ish resistance and yielding a long. This retreated off the highs, but still closed over 2.75 for the longs. Up nearly 10% today.

This played out perfectly. Opening flat near the hod, this sported nice, gentle fading as suspected. We even closed at the lod, vindicating my EOD exit strategy suggestion. Red finish by over 6% today.

I was wrong about enough of how this would play out to merit a loss. I said not to buy the gap up, which proved sage advice, as that was near the hod. But 1.50 did not hold for the pull back long entry. Still, it rebounded back over that key level. We did not have an encore of the previous session in terms of price action. The choppiness and sideways moves merit a loss. Finished unchanged, but arguing a push here is overly generous. Up after hours over 5.5% if that is any consolation.

A no play yet again as this opened near the lod and never looked back, closing green by over 22% today. A pull back proved to be a dip entry as it soared into the finish. As no shorting cue existed, a flat stance ensued.

Another huge up day and no play, as this never yielded a shorting cue. Opening on a gap up, an hour of sideways moves led to a soaring stock today. Some profit taking occurred but it reasserted itself into the close, which was green by over 89% today.

Save for an early move under the previous close by 1 cent lasting one 5 minute candle, this moved green and sideways. Then it zoomed into the afternoon on a break out with a vengeance. When it was all said and done, the stock had advanced 50% on the day when it greened. Unfortunately, the character of the movement was easier to talk about achieving than to actually do it. Choppy, but a push as I got the call right if not the realism.
