Trade review 4-21-11

I got a couple plays accurate today...

Hits:

LEXG

When it rains it pours. Other than a lunch time rebound, this just advanced most of the way, essentially holding the flat line. Late morning closes banked, and so did all day believers. Closed green by over 20.5% today.

MONT

A perfect short. After a gap up near the hod, it just tanked. Steadily falling all morning, going green to red soon after the open, it traded sideways in the afternoon and closed down by over 42.5% today.

TECO

Perfect timing by yours truly! A flat open near the hod went red early and steadily decayed all day, eventually closing south by nearly 32.5% today.

TIVO

This failed its 11 test early, with a flat line fail and consistent trading under the opening price level. Even measured fading followed, for an all day short that closed down over 6.5% today. It was a predictable path.

Misses:

JAG

A fake out loss. It looked strong early and good for longs. But it soon decayed and kept that up all day. It never quite closed negative, but it did finish under 6, which was the entry point for longs.

ACAD

A daily doji print candle that could have lost money either direction, though swings could have entered on the hold of 2 on a pullback, so it's debatable to call this a loss yet. Closed positive by over 2% but that was lost in the gap up. The eventual early red to green could have lost a small amount of money on the entry as a long.

Push:

IMRS

No play for longs as this opened flat and fell from there, never getting to new yearly highs. It rallied back to the flat line and even greened barely and briefly, but soon resumed falling, trading sideways into the close, which was negative by over 3% today. We never tested new 52's with a fail, so keeping flat was advised.

My unofficial play FLWS was pretty obvious as a short. It opened up and tried to meekly reach for 4, failing to really test it. Once it fell green to red the fix was in for the fade entry. It kept decaying into the close, which was south by over 3% today. They sold into the report and the cue signals were all red.
